graffiti tag
This was a graffiti tag of our name or nickname with at least 4 or more letters. On tag board done with black colored pencils and red and black marker, sticking with the minimum of 2 colors. I met requirements by using a shadow with the black marker to give a 3D effect, I lined up the letters on the X-height, my text is legible, and the letters have form with the added color. Plus it was neat and clean.
Pictograph
This is our Pictograph. I used a quote that I love and I simplified it to make it easier to make into pictures. The poem is 'Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.' I made the paper go vertically, and decided not to box in the words to give the piece more flow. I kept the spacing equal and kept the black balanced.
Word Illustration
This was our word illustration. We had to choose a word with 5 or more letters, and design the letters using the theme of the word. I kept spacing even and the word is easy to read, the colors go along with the theme but they could have been bolder. I chose my letters to all represent something with music with either a instrument or music notes.
andy
This was our Andy Worhol. We took a picture of are selves and edited them on Photoshop and put them together on adobe illustrator. I made sure the colors went together well and didn't clash.
making faces
This is our 'making faces' assignment. We had to use typography/ letters, numbers, and symbols of different sizes and form them in to a shape and in this case a face. Before this was created we did a number of tutorials and practices to learn about adobe illustrator, I chose the thumbnail that was the most interesting and neat to look at with the letters.
logos
These were 3 logos that we had to create for a business that we drew out a bowl. Mine was leisure and an RV Park. We had to stay withing the 10 given words and the color budget of black and white. I wanted to make a family friendly logo that was memorable yet simple.
stationary
These were stationary designs that we had to create with one of our logos. We had to make a letter head, business card, and a envelope.
menu
This was our last assignment, a menu design. We had to make up any kind of restaurant. I chose an Italian Gelatria and researched different Italian gelato flavors and average prices. I wanted to make the menu elegant yet with a brightness that makes you want delicious food. I used 2 different fonts to keep the menu readable and still have that elegance that I had in mind for my restaurant. I gave the menu a nice border and gave at least 5 things a price. I also tired to keep the organization nice and neat, and not confusing to the reader.+
